I do think, however, that she confused the coloring on each character's outfit. Madeline likes the rainbow-colored one better, so naturally she put it on the princess. I guess she can't abide a prince being better dressed than a princess.
This image has me going, as we speak, to see if they have the film at the local library - absolutely gorgeous! And I add a second 'brava!' to Madeline!! :)
Thank you, but if I didn't make it clear, that version is really tailored to children. Its alright, but, if you haven't seen it, you should perhaps try to get instead the Ingmar Bergman film of the magic flute. Its far more beautiful in every way (the Queen might not be as good a singer--but she absolutely looks the part).
Thanks for the suggestion of the Bergman film - I will see about checking that one out too.
I did actually figure out that the version included in this entry was geared towards children - but, based on that still, I really want to watch it for the visual experience ... plus I really am just a big kid at heart, so who knows - I might end up loving it! ;) :)
