For Halloween this year, Madeline is absolutely fixed in dressing as The Queen of the Night. It is impossible to say how gratifying that is. We'll have to try to find something suitable.

Ah, you should be proud too. I'm sure you'll find something. Either dark and glittery like the night sky or pale as the moon are the two options to go for, I think. A little crown and stellar or lunar accessories are optional. Do post pictures! Does Andrew already know what he'll be?

And may I be pedantic about German orthography? Just one t in "Zauberflöte". (But oe for ö is fine.)

They wound up with matching night an d Queen costumes--matching in color--the suit of mail might form the era of the Black Prince, and the Queen form the early Tudor court.

I used to go to the thrift stores for kids' costumes; bought a lot of prom dresses, fancy jackets, scarves, hats, etc. A few alterations, and voila!
