After this again he went through he village, and a lad knocked against his shoulder. Jesus was exasperated and said to him: "You shall not go further on your way", and the child immediately fell down and died.

Infancy Gospel of Thomas, 4.1 (Hennecke-Schneemelcher)

Weirdly, there is a cartoon of another episode from the gospel (ch. 9):

Thinking about it further, when I was a lowly undergraduate in the first half of Western Civ, the Professor--the most effective speaker I've ever heard to this day--said, "The only difference between you and me is that I have access to books that you don't." That was largely true. I can say things about early Christianity or Neoplatonism that other's can;t because I've read books they haven't. And who in my audience would the two volumed of Hennecke-Schneelmecher sitting on their shelf. But now there's no need for them to.

It is amazing what one can find on the internet these days ... many of those old hallowed volumes of history that my ancient profs allowed us whipper-snappers to peek at from time to time are popping up on Google Books! And so changes the face of the whipper-snapper ... which can be troublesome at times, since everyone in their twenties seems to know everything ... *sighs*! :)

The cartoon is really funny. I'm sure he would have brought the first one back to life again in due course!

this is very off topic, but oh what did you do to me with that post. You made me look for my apocrypha. Which made me realize that I don't even find my bibles. Then I saw that I have the Peanuts next to De Sade in my bookshelf. And now I'm trying to change that. Still haven't found the bibles. Sweet Jesus!
