Made me look up the word "predicated". To be honest I don't exactly get the meaning. (Apart from your telling someone that they're out of their mind.) I'm sure it's superbly worded, but my English fails. (I understand "The latter part of the e-mail" and "the possibility of reasoned communication leading to logical decision making", but the middle part escapes me.)

On the contrary my correspondent was exhibiting impeccable reasoning, to the point of expecting all the other parties involved to do the same--that was the insane expectation.
