Here are some stills from Ken Russell's Dante's Inferno, posted in a blog many will be interested in. These are digital photos of a VHS tape playing, but evidently a new DVD will be released later this month.

What a beautiful "look" to the film, and especially for Oliver Reed. Ken Russell also directed Women in Love, it turns out, and he made Reed's doomed Gerald Crich look lovely in that film too.

I did see Dante's Inferno years ago, long before I was ready, but have never seen Women in Love.

What I don't understand is how he could also make films like Lair of the White Worm.
