DC really did have an obsession with body morphing, didn't they? These two are also "classics:"

The superman of that era (as in the Jimmy Olsen) look a little paunchy for a superhero anyway. But if he has trouble picking up a 230 pound Lois how super is he?

Also, I suspect Lois could have more easily hidden her identity from Superman by putting on sun glasses rather than hiding her face behind her hat--if she only was in glasses I suspect she would be protected by the same immutable law of nature that prevents her realizing Clark Kent is really superman.

Also, that's pretty good "Keep firing until Superman no longer poses a threat..." Holy Euphemism, Batman, wouldn't that be when he is dead?

A common pubescent fear, perhaps. On the other hand, every character in Attic Comedy was enormously fat.
