I assume you mean the same new one I was listeneing to, the one with Jaroussky (or whatever his name is?).
Personally I do not like the recording nearly as well as the old one with Marilynn Horne--but my CD of that litterally disentigrted, with dozens of pinpricks gradually appeared in the silver substrate, making it unlistenable--very odd.
no no, not the new one. i must confess i don't know orlando furioso at all, yet. i started ariosto's book a few days ago, but vivaldi: no. so i ordered the old, good copy at my public library (along with handel's, lully's, and rameau's take on that book, because that's how i am).
it's not available right away, but i should get it in a couple of days, with a little bit of luck before the holidays.
It's the M. Horne/V. de los Angeles/Claudio Scimone version and got it today. It's in top condition. If you have no other ressources, I'd gladly burn you a copy. (Just say so and mail me your postal address: strangefruit aon.at.)
Orlando is in the mail. Lady at the post office told me to expect 20 days till delivery. (Give me a shout, if it hasn't arrived around the 5th of January.)
