Forgive the stupid question, the batman cape is something of a giveaway. But it wouldn't have been as funny without it. As a child I read a version of King Solomon's Mines which had been turned into a comic (quite well too). I suppose Dostoyevsky would lose rather more in the process though. How about Jane Austen?!

The comic artist Robert Crumb did an excellent job with some of the more erotic segments of Boswell's diary.
