James Branch Cabell

Knowing that Cabell has a certian reputation, I ventured two dollars on a used copy of The High Place many years ago and picked it up to read the first dozen pages only today.

Unless someone can assure me that it reaches some worthwhile goal as it goes along, I doubt I will continue it.
