What I'd like to know is--now really, finally, this country is moving toward a revised healthcare system that should enable those without healthcare--and there are some 32 MILLION of them, not counting the homeless--to have equal access to healthcare--what don't people get about common good? the day I believe Blue Cross Blue Shield is my friend and cares about me is the day I'll check myself into the goddam lunatic asylum. But I digress--so now I have to listen to all these idiots saying that the United States is turning into a socialist country, a communist country, a dictatorship, fascist, the government's taking too much control--until I want to vomit. So--where in the hell were all these criers of doom when the government was taking over and handing over all kinds of money--my money--to these huge banks who had been taking big risks for years and got us, and the rest of the world, into an economic crisis? Why weren't they having their little tea party protests then about too much government takeover? Reeks of hypocrisy to me. What fair-minded person would be completely opposed to the common individual being able to see a doctor or have a hospital stay to get better and not fall into financial ruin because of it, but be completely okay with the government handing billions over to people who took it after the bankers fucked up and then hand themselves and their executives huge bonuses to boot? Who could possibly be okay with this?

In other news, much to Malkhos's dismay, Andrew has developed a mild obsession with Queen. Andrew thinks Freddie Mercury is cool. I, on the other hand, heartily approve. There was a time I thought Freddie Mercury was some sort of a god.
