More boring news about the internet
Jul. 19th, 2009 09:34 pmAbandoning Charter for AT&T, we actually had internet service restored last Friday. Only, the agent I spoke to said that a technician would come out on Monday to do the work. Only when calling them for another matter (TV installer late) did the computer I spoke to inform me that the internet was already hooked up and no techinician was coming. So I hooked up the modem (if that is the right word) they sent through the mail (for free-Charter was going to charge us ten dollars a month for the rest of our lives for the privelege of using theirs) and then the computers, and after two phone calls to the sub-continent totalling about an hour, we have the internet.
Also Mme. Malkhos will be able to watch the rest of the Tour de France, and we will see what is offered on BBC America.
Mme. Malkhos is also anxious to upload pictures of the new kittens (Mme. named the first one Sylvia even before we saw them, but she spurned my sensible suggestion that in that case the other must be Rhea, in favor of Belle chosen by Madeline). But that will have to wait until I copy all the files from the old computer onto this one (probably another call to India), install google chrome, and so forth.
