Internet Connection
Jul. 15th, 2009 11:31 amThe Charter crew comes out:
'We can't climb that rickety pole; we can't install the cable. we'll send another crew who can.'
After an half hour on the phone, another Charter crew comes out:
'We can't climb that rickety pole; we can't install the cable. We'll send out another crew who can.'
We're now in the middle of the third round of this.
W've asked ATT to come out, since they got somehow got around this problem to hook up the internet to the neighbors.
Evidently the neighbors had a two month long fight with the power company in the spring over this pole--one result of its unusuability is that his power line is hanging only five feet off the ground through his backyard. They were on the verge or replacing it, but claimed they had to wait for the acqusition of a self-powered post-hole digger (how does that differ from a shovel?) which was supposed to come in April. After a while he more or less gave up. So Mme. Malkhos is calling the power company even as I type to try to goad them into action. It seems not to have occurred to anyone at Charter to have called them.
