1. From Andrew
We found this among the folder of school work that Andrew's teacher periodically sends home.

It develops that Mr. Oats was a meal worm Andrew raised from an egg. He fed its larva flakes of dried oatmeal, hence the name. He then observed it pupate and metamorphize into a small beetle. The adult form evidently is not long-lived.
2. When we took the Christmas decorations out of storage, we found the following object adhering to the bottom of one. No detailed explanation for how it got there:
