Malkhos's Creativity
Nov. 7th, 2009 09:15 amWriting all his articles for Gale impinges Malkhos's desire to pursue writing more creatively. When he isn't working on an article for them, he tries to work on a piece of creative writing he's been working on since I've known him. If I may borrow a phrase from Baldrick, this work in progress is Malkhos's Magnificent Octopus.
But since Malkhos is writing for Gale more and more, he has less and less time for his Magnificent Octopus, so I'm finding his creative impulses in the strangest places.
This morning it was on the grocery list on the refrigerator. Yesterday, in passing, I asked Malkhos to grab a pen and write down such and such so I could purchase these things the next time I went shopping. I asked him to write something down Andrew eats for his lunch daily.
The list read: "disgusting ungulate hoof by-product." Only I know Malkhos well enough to know that means Jell-O.

Date: 2009-11-30 01:10 am (UTC)I don't think Malkhos would eat Jell-O if he were starving to death. I think he'd just starve.
When I was younger and more vain (which was never much, actually; being plain was just fine with me; I like the anonymity of it) I did, however, take my hands as a point of pride. I do have very nice hands. Well, I did. Now they're showing my forty-two years. I would drink Knox gelatin specifically to strengthen my nails despite knowing what it was made out of. Ah, vanity!
I am glad to see you are still about. ;)
