Jan. 27th, 2008 07:15 pmFor some months A. has referred to his sister as the mental midget, a phrase borrowed from Bugs Bunny—probably because she can’t talk that well as yet. This week he dropped the 'mental,' perhaps realizing the remaining word can refer to her stature. But at the same time he coined a new word: 'midgetry' to mean foolishness or buffoonery.
Today at the park as we drove into the parking lot by the playground, I noticed a group of fat middle-aged men playing with a frisbee. ‘Ah, hippies!’ I thought aloud. This prompted A. to ask, ‘Do they think with a hippy mentality?’
