Remember the days when we could actually watch interesting foreign films, or even--gasp!--go to the theater now and then? One of my favorite times was when we went to Webster University to see La Belle et la Bete, Cocteau's 1945(?)version, on a real movie screen. And who was that actress I adored, the one who starred in The Swimming Pool? I can't even remember her name.
Ah, well, one of these days the children will be more self-sufficient and have more advanced tastes... surely A. will outgrow Godzilla, and M. Thomas and Friends...
