Magic Flute

Kenneth Branagh's Magic Flute (2006) was never released on DVD in the US, or in the theaters as far as I recall, but the whole thing has been posted on Youtube in reasonable video quality:

I just watched it, and, oddly, I will have to reserve judgement on it. It seemed as though it failed many times on the execution of what could have been good ideas (the finale is remarkably similar to some scenes from Tam Poko, buy I think those were handled better). The way he handled the Queen's arias was a disgrace.

Cod. Theod.

Looking over old work from last year for formatting --but I still like this quotation from the Codex Theodosianus:

“If any person should hasten the fate of a parent…he shall be sewed in a leather sack, and confined within its deadly closeness, he shall share the companionship of serpents.” (9.15)
