Unwritten Novels
May. 19th, 2007 12:32 amI just saw something that gave me an idea for a novel I could write (though perhaps I ought to finish one of the three I have underway first; nevertheless I am selfish enough not to mention it here), but over the years I've had excellent ideas for novels that I would never consider writing:
1. Concerning the civil rights moement of the 1960s, with the main characters Kennedy (one or more of them), Johnson, King, Malcolm, Wallace, etc., but in a parallel universe in which the Confedercy had succeeded in gaining independence.
2. The Civil War journal of Huckleberry Finn.
3. The main action concerns the turbulent relationship between a Composer and librettist writing an opera in 1830 to celebrate the coronation of Victoria: Mozart and Keats.
(This one I could write, but I'll mention it anyway):
4. A Sherlock Holmes pastiche in which Plotinus is the detective (Name of the Rose togata).
